Healesville V - White-faced Heron

For the rest of this month, I am going to post some shots that I took at the Healesville Sanctuary. Healesville Sanctuary is one of Australia’s most recognised attractions, showcasing more than 200 species of Australian wildlife.

Today's bird is the White-Faced Heron. It is also known as the Blue Crane or White-fronted Heron and is common throughout most of Australasia.

  1. Great capture photos! We have white and blue herons here, too.

  2. @Leif: Apparently they are very common around the world. The Blue Crane is South Africa's national bird. (I was born in South Africa)
