My first spring flowers have started to appear. I spotted these sweetpeas last Friday.

You will not quite understand how overwhelmingly envious I am. When I was a child (in the middle of last century) my father grew Sweat Peas each year planting them always on St Patrick's Day. I remember in Hornsby and in Miranda he had a massive trellis awash with the blighters.
ReplyDeleteI tried to grow them this year - planting them on St Patrick's Day. But they spluttered, withered and curled up their non-bloomin' toes!!

ReplyDeleteI planted seeds last year on the other side of this wall. They took over the fence until Black Saturday when the heat killed them all. Then, about 2 months ago, these plants started to pop up on both sides of the wall. This side gets more sun, so it is flowering already!
Don't you just love their sweet smell?
